The plants grow
By the water's edge
In cluttered mass
Yet with great ease
Are all viewed alike
Yet those that grow
To flourish so dry
Differ in number
Each with character
Struggle to live
If only for change
We must see
The plants ways
Know their lessons
It is easy similar
It is harder different
Struggle in individuality
Claim yourself
Alone and together
Characteristics one
The cattails yield
To maple, oak, and pine
