In a child's charms I see
The gyrations of growth
Where a grand mind
Overwhelms a tiny soul
They remind me of days ago
The body ages to decay
But the spirit keeps its youth
A child still within
The years have flown on
Unaccountable to anyone
But the wonder never ceases
Sometimes good, at times bad
I see those lost themselves
Decisions that derailed them
So that living is a sentence
Merely the progression of days
There is great strength here
For integrity, for fairness right
That is paramount to each of us
Looming large at day's close
The time that is afforded
That remains to reclaim
The spirit of life's wonder
Reborn each and every day
