The lamp lit needs tending
'Gainst the wind extinguishing
A flame that burns too high
Too bright, consumes itself
The wick that feeds the heart
The globe, a sphere magnifying
Shines through transparent
Casting dancing shadows come
On scenic sooted walls, staged
A silent serenade arrayed
In the cast uniformity unseen
Sensed pure darkness nears
For the light shows depth afar
And perception dimensional
All revealed by a deft oil lamp
