Man has amassed such arrogance
To believe deities in like image
Putting order to natural selection
To minimize fear of living, its end
There are no noble codes unknown
To those without sufficient intellect
Nor worries of percieved fairness
In a world filled with predation
The chain of survival mandated
For the preservation of one
The trade is given loss of another
But none in spiteful hostility as man
Only men kill in mass arbitrarily
They do, not even within natural bounds
So why in fear do they consummate
Life beyond its limits epithial
Within buildings they worship
Dieties in their likenesses
With traits inapplicable
Yet not comprehending why
An entity existent by imagination
That is in constant conflict
Battling instinctive drives
Nemises, the id, subconsciously
The step is short and surprising
Between superstition and religion
A field where reason fails
Here emotion and chaos combine
Illusions created to cope
To mask the frailties of man
The inevidable, it's reality
Lend little hope to the dubious
What then is the meaning
The absence of its being
Fate and coincidence combine
Answering survival's tuth
Those close that interact
Give purpose and support
In measured doses inconsistent
Disappointing or profound
Do we maintain in ignorance
A child's mind to subsist
Creating obscurring obsticles
To conceal what is genuine
The harshness that is life
With moments of wonder
Attempting organization
Amid the chaotic nuances
