That consideration be made
For reason shall prevail
And justice shall be made equal
To that once known
There will come a day
When life shall bring obvious change
And then the hen's will roost
In a coup d'etet
The earth shall cede its spinning
And all will grind to a disturbing halt
To realize the reality of its being
And recognize its own fault
The conscious gives no haven
For those years of ever present scorn
But no words were exchanged then
No offenses shared, none borne
The strong have now grown weak
And the weak in turn grew strong
None can expect much more
For this, the insensitive abuse
So then no heeding their pleas
They fear the banishment of themselves
Now guilt cannot find itself
Avoidance is not negligence
Judgement then is swift and sure
Not tediously doled out as before
So compassion is unwarily given
By the clock and dementia's hand
Moments pass on, certainly so
And one shall bestow absolution
But it will not eagerly find itself
Until that final fated respiration
Justice's scales will tip then
Abruptly toward hell's door
And judgement be swift and sure
Not carried out as before
