With the psyche of modern men
Lies an ethnocentric culture
That overtakes perceptions
In this kingdom ruled by men
These anthropomorphic deities
In the cartouches and obelisks
Of mythology and of religion
Laced in fables and fairytales
Man's image and emotions so
Imposed upon animal and entity
The personification of idolatry
Attributes given to them by beauty
From age's wisdom to its folly
The emotions conformed humane
And those too deemed evil as well
Tis a threatening world uncertain
With plateaus too high to espy
And abysses too deep to fathom
To create kindred spirits powerful
To live with fears commonly known
Then the scary world we share
Seems to have order in chaos
Meaning and nobility in drudgery
A hand to hold through the dark
Life and hope in something after death
