When men try to scrub history

They steal away their past

There's no hiding what happened

Like a leaking oaken bucket

A lid to hide it will do no good

Banning books and flags

Removing statues and banners

They are feable attempts

To cover mens' awful truths

Words and ways ago remain aired

Men need to know long ago

That they don't relive it

The mistakes trying so to avoid

Should be remembered wisely

Not denied their lessons taught

Not of glorification of hate

Nor its continuance eternal

But men are men and must know

So that they will face it so

So history will not be repeated
