Lord, what did you see in me?
This I can't seem to understand,
Well, I'm not wise, nor wealthy,
There's others better than I.
I was but a sinner,
Sick and desperate,
Drinking all the sin of misery and pain.
Explain it to me too, what I say isn't important
Twice, I close my mouth
What's important is your opinion.
But, what did you see in me? Lord
As far as I can remember, I was a stray,
Homeless, and without a master1
What did you see in me? Lord.
Lord, you've made me so happy
Let me be the one to tell it,2
And so everyone may know,
The change you've made in me.
You taught me how to live,
I'm the bird, roaming3
I'm not going towards a downward path,
I'm not who I was before.
Lord, for your great love
You forgave my sing,
And all of my sin,
Deep down it stayed.
But, what did you see in me? Lord
As far as I can remember, I was a stray,
Homeless, and without a master1
What did you see in me? Lord.
What did you see in me?
