Age has found me
Many friends and family gone
Life is solitude
Experiences, so many
None can know, or believe
All trials taken on, win or lose
Wonders shared by God's hand
Only to those who dare life
Who know its brevity and beauty
Living in fullness in all that comes
Many mountains I have summited
Lifes changed by my intercession
Many tears have fallen, sorrow known
The strength of both worlds
Combines into wisdom refined
Scars and wounds mark my body
They may touch even my soul
A body that is impared now, duly so
A mind that has muddled thoughts
The soul fights on unceasingly
This veteran of life and country
Will not surrender to disability
The enduring character within
Will impress upon mortal men to
Never Quit!
