The sun's golden rays shine
Amid long draping shadows
A day is ending, and eve comes
The blazing inferno gives way
Slowly the air cools a bit
The birds rejoice in the trees
Shadows, breezes blow
Surviving daily hardship
Even preditors lie low
A fur coat auspicious for winter
Is a scouge in blistering heat
So for now calm collects
Cooling and calculating
The time to begin again
Dozing lazily until then
For now the birds reign
