I stood up straight on high
Atop the summits grand
And found myself sealed
'Tween the earth and sky
There, finding truth direct
Little significance to myself
The blues, the whites blend
Inattentive to mortal being
It's recollection felt sharp
Like a ridge's steep slopes
That drastically show life
Its limits streaming down
Obligated to those extremes
Given to wisdom's light
Lessons of humility taught
In the grandeur benumbing
The years no longer lived
At altitude elevated so lofty
Each touched by intensity
Ever found in daily living
