If speech were but mathmatics
Universal, devoid of nuisances
It would bear no need of humanity
There would be no civil unrest
Its interpretation has variances
They are quite polarizing naturally
And are often open to confusion
The nature then of language
Its conformity breeds harmony
The efficiency of all societies
Though intentions may misdirect
Or mistakes made be long lasting
Yet lexicons so different or difficult
Cannot overshadow what is true
That we all can understand easily
By observation and by empathy
Expressions universal communicate
They mirror the soul, initially akin
Only alienated by barriers learned
Knowledge that predicates us all
A polyglot global may find constant
An inability to comprehend others
The means of another, of themselves
Never grasping each's intentions
It is not just syntax or grammar
That can denote what needs to be
Experiences cultivated by emotion
Make room for linguistic empathy
They are separable from man
Animals too know this so well
So we must then understand
Initially, we must all be very human
