Once a man's word
Meant something
It was his bond
And one was not so
Without it
But now a fog stills
Where right and wrong
Are distinguishable
To some, confused
By ambitious sorts
There once was truth
And there were lies
No disguises impervious
Now post-truth tales
And an obtrusive media
No one keeps their word
Renegging on deals done
Honour cast aside cooly
Surrupticiously scattered
Maligning accountability
Now only to expect
That electronics shield
From the consequences
That come from reniging
And facing the truth
