When I was a youth
I thought all adults
Were smart and wise
But I was mistaken
The authority of age
Deemed by daily norms
Was a farce, a fake
Not given to all of years
A great disappointment
Realized on reaching
Experience and true self
A place not so common
Where are the days ago
When simplicity reigned
A niave prospective
Amongst such complexity
Time has borne estrangement
Trivial priorities rule
Capturing the masses
Alienating the wise
Lost is mens' magnificance
Forfeited to numbing rituals
