Do words commanding incur
What might is constituted to be
That eyes cast below devour
To bring servitude into play
Or is it that kindness dealt evenly
Lives longer in the hearts heard
That kindred care and example
Do request great things justified
Where please and thank you then
Roam in a subservient posture
That leadership demands of men
So none can shake their finger
Some think that manners lower
To make them less than others
A fear unfounded by perception
Wisdom knows humility well
Respect is earned therefore
Like a crop growing in the field
It must be constantly kept so
To produce a bountiful harvest
What is demanded is doomed
To shout out across the land
Will only echo but a short while
Dispersed upon barren sand
The shifting dunes lifeless
Mock the sea's giving realm
Its abundance made mutual
Life on a desert coastline
Good intentions breathe life
They cultivate hope in calamity
Because a purpose created
Gives an example to live for
