The 35th President of the USA
Charasmatic in troubled times
A man of American ideas
A veteran of his country
All men do many things in life
Some to boast of, some in shame
But all men are all men
Perfection lies beyond them
He reached out to Russia
To combine and cooperate
On several sincere occasions
A grand gesture of humanity
A Cold War cannot see truth
When doctrine and prejudice
They destroy all that could be
And all that should be
He gave it his all unknowingly
Gave his life unceremoniously
It galvanized a noble cause
Shared by all of humanity
The John F. Kennedy Space Center
And Cape Kennedy stand far away
The bastions of challenges won
They did it "because it was hard"
But the light that burns eternal
Upon his quiet, fated grave
Shines on human aspiriations
And gives pardon to the past
The critics are all gone
The evil that took his hope
A Camelot court devasted
Could not lay waste its desire
Above each of us, beyond all men
Is a want, a need for greatness
Even anonimous wonderous acts
Are the building blocks of it all
The years have passed on
Beyond that day of shock
That day of commitment
When NASA refound faith
From a singular bad deed
Came a world we never knew
Shared by all of humanity
Borderless, boundless space
So burn the stars of hope
So shines the sun on life
That aspirations grow
When men gaze into the skies
