A demon appeared from unwary lust
Without regard for selfish desire
Inopportune and constraining
But bore no malice, no contempt
Tarried by their unseeing options
They held in account the debt
To total a span of a lifetime
For the crimes' constant grumblings
No mitigation for an infant
Surely so none to give to a toddler
Nor lend to a teen, lest an adult
Who stole away the 'what ifs'
A secret pact to commit to
To compensate for deliberate sins
And avow injustice and tyranny
Under a pitiless paternal guise
Lashing words to contort the soul
Flogging swings with eyes of hate
To bring welts, bruises, breaks
The body, a delegated flagellant
No love to hear, nor mercy to show
Only legal constraints afar hinder him
No haven, nor undiscriminating judge
With a scale that tips even empty
From the terror antics late night
To responses bid and always wrong
A child should not pay for their life
In daily doses of abuse unabated
Tis difficult to sit in school
In the throws of pain and injury
Not to give away the purpetrator
Then to suffer the consequences
Even to attempt to manipulate, to stop
Lest the truth of the world awaken
To attempt even to sabatoge goals
That may be better than his limits
Such a trivial man, so a child suffers
In a world that has no choices
Only fearful unknowns and options
So that even hurt is a comfort
His hand was not of compassion
Callused in stone-hearted contempt
Kept alive in plentiful idleness
An example another followed true
Now in time's wake and age's length
When frailties lead to uncertainty
A fear grips his being all alone
A rogue seeks justice in the end
An ideal world created in his mind
Not shared, nor known in days gone
The long spanse of distant days
That collected into years untended
No roses grow in this garden
For bitter tears kill all hope
Only greyness and darkness loom
A land lifeless, liable, lost
Those that knew then are now gone
A generation's quieted testimony
The earth brings justice to all
Time dispenses ever impartially
A great conundrum is approaching
In a place where obligation and guilt
Meet in long-held conflict kept
Misguided duty, conditioned so
His future to be fairly determined
By the offended, the insulted, the hurt
An unforseen consequence of a despot
Now realized in the roles changed
Justice can never be certainly dealt
An unrepentant scoundrel never to see
The transgressions without amends
Only an epoch ceasing brings relief
