힙합성애자 [Hip Hop Phile] [hibhabseong-aeja] [English translation]

It was a new world

To me, who normally would write stories or poems

It came to be out of nowhere like Shimchung (t/n: story of a daughter and her blind father)

It opened my new eyes that I couldn’t open

But people keep askin’

baby why you love that hip hop shit

So I say this, there’s normally no reason

cause it’s hip hop

There’s nothing much to it, Epik High

Like others, Jay Z or

the classic Illmatic and Doggystyle

In my mind, there’s also KRS ONE

Also ready to die Eminem and

The Cronic and the next masterpiece 2001

Gang Starr Black Star

Eric B Rakim Pete Rock

and CL smooth

They juss keep poppin

I had a lot with me and lived

At that time, I had so much to say that

I felt it lacked with what people were saying

For now, I did a forced lie

I laid layer by layer, and wrote something and called it lyrics

And that was it uh that was it

At the point where I became me

I put in the me that everyone knows

in between the blank pages of my school materials.

Then I erased it, emptied it

At least on top of the beat, I’m free

It’s the same 7 years ago as it is today

This is most like me

I’ll be down for your rap

I’ll be down for your rhythm

It still continues to make my heart race

It makes me want to be the real me

Yeah I love this

Hip hop something that smells like human

Hip hop something I write as my life

Hip hop something that became a part of my life

hip hop yeah this ma

hip hop

yo ma hip hop school entrance

As I feel it with my body, I intervene

Boogaloo King Tut I follow the old school rhythm

On top of the Bighit trust, I stick my rhymes and tongue

I show two sides and

now combine both rap and dance

Yeah ma role model

Dynamic Duo, Verbal Jint with Epik High

The lacking me writes a resume, breaking my unknown status, and fly on stage

It raised me up, who didn’t know anything

The Artist Ring that rung my heart every day

Biggie and Tupac and Nas, who only expressed themselves physically

I started understanding more about me uh

Hope hope world

Before I made my world, Cole world

From when he started to shine up Friday nights,

I receive more influence and write my songs

Mac Miller, Kanye, Kendrick

Their music hits my ears

They held onto the borders, making me go crazy every day

My life’s best musicians

Endless diction, all right

My intuition picks it

Whatever rap it is, whatever dance it is

My sensible contact

Now the inside of my life

melts into hip hop

Today as well wild for the night

My body feels like asap asap

I’ll be down for your rap

I’ll be down for your rhythm

It still continues to make my heart race

It makes me want to be the real me

Yeah I love this

Hip hop something that smells like human

Hip hop something I write as my life

Hip hop something that became a part of my life

hip hop yeah this ma

hip hop

Hip hop came to me slightly

Like a young child would look for their mom

It naturally mixed in with my life

When I was just an elementary schooler then

I thought of my dream at that time

I want a rapstar,

The early matured thoughts of a young child who hated the idea of having a similar life as others

Even when everyone around me

held onto me and tried to dissuade,

hip-hop which made its place inside of me,

flips me over completely

At that young age,

my 16 bars that I wrote on the corners of my textbook

Thanks to that,

I was able to throw away my safe life and

go to a studio in Daegu Namsan-dong

Then throw myself and work the dull tip of a pen all night long

At the end of my efforts, I finally

instead of the language and math tutoring taken during school,

thanks to my rhymes that I fully compiled

dreams come true

Everyone around me asks what hip hop is

I confidently answer this, that it’s my everything

The results of that is my entire life

is buried inside music

If it’s a sin for loving this culture

then I’ve died over a hundred times

I’ll be down for your rap

I’ll be down for your rhythm

It still continues to make my heart race

It makes me want to be the real me

Yeah I love this

Hip hop something that smells like human

Hip hop something I write as my life

Hip hop something that became a part of my life

hip hop yeah this ma

hip hop
