When TNT pulled out of developing a Teen Titans live-action TV series, DC’s Geoff Johns said the show was still in development because “it’s a huge piece of DC and we have plans.” Two years later, we learned those plans involve a new streaming service and a Titans trailer in which Robin straight up murders a bunch of dudes and growls, “F*ck Batman.”

Welcome to the age of the murder twink.
The new streaming service is called DC Universe, and it costs $7.99 per month or $74.99 annually, which comes with digital comics and other content along with Titans (later this year) and three more TV shows coming next year: Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, and Harley Quinn.
The Titans trailer was surprisingly dark for a superhero TV show, and the reaction on Twitter has been sarcastic, to say the least. Most of the reactions have been funny (see below), but some have taken their ire too damn far, and — in simultaneously racist and sexist behavior that’s become a pattern online — people have been harassing Anna Diop, the actress who plays Starfire, to the point where she had to disable comments on her Instagram. Needless to say, if your reaction to not liking a trailer is to find the nearest black woman to harass, you need therapy and a souvenir punch in the face.
Thankfully, most folks on Twitter made jokes instead of personal attacks, and we’ve collected some of our favorites below.

I heard the TITANS version of Jimmy Olsen will be skinned alive by a sobbing Lois Lane while "Mad World" plays. That's the whole episode.

My favorite part of the Titans trailer is when Robin looks directly at the camera and complains that the new She-Ra isn’t sexy enough.

Never thought I’d see the day where I was more excited for a Shazam movie than a live action Teen Titans show. But here we are.

Fan: Teen Titans Go is too kiddy!
DC: So you want a more adult Titans show
Fan: Yes I do.
DC: With lots of blood and neck snapping!
Fan: Ye…wait what
DC: And Robin dropping F-bombs!
Fan: No! That's not what I meant!
DC: Too late it's already in production.
— Grimlockimus (@ChromeTyranno) July 19, 2018
Various Teen Titans fans: Teen Titans Go is too silly and childish! I wish they'd bring back the serious side of the characters!!
DC Universe: Hold my beer
Teen Titans fans: W-wait, what are you… WTF AHHHHH!
DC Universe, covered in murder blood: …What, too far the other way

Finally, a show where Robin says “Fuck” and stabs people.
This is like one of those terrible dark and gritty fan films got a real budget.
— Patrick Willems (@patrickhwillems) July 19, 2018
I kind of appreciate the Titans trailer arriving right on the 10th anniversary of The Dark Knight and perfectly embodying all the wrong lessons learned from it.
— Patrick Willems (@patrickhwillems) July 19, 2018
Want a Teen Titans that skews young We have #TeenTitansGo!
Want a Teen Titans that skews old We have #Titans!
Want something in between We have #YoungJustice!
See Everyone’s happy!
Just kidding. It’s the internet. Nobody’s happy.

Would love it if the “Fuck Batman” scene from the Titans trailer was followed up with the criminals being like, “You okay, dude” and “Hey, don’t be like that, man”

more like teen titans stop
